I got a custom-made guitar by Atelier Bontemps, partially designed by me! 🔥
Last year, I realized that in spite of my years of writing/recording music and playing in bands, I didn't have any really good quality instrument. Not that owning some was mandatory to make music, of course, but I thought that maybe it was time to invest in one.
I discovered the work of Aurélien Bontemps via my good friend Jizuss, and decided to visit his workshop. After testing out a few Foxy models, and being totally convinced of their qualities, I started thinking about what I could ask for, and make a little photo mockup, based on one of the existing models... And Aurélien agreed to make it!
The idea was to have a straightforward and built-for-rock high quality guitar, that could be similar to the old Fender Esquire or Gibson's Melody Maker, with minimum frills.
Last weekend, I finally got my hands on this guitar and it's hard for me to describe how good it feels to play on it-- it goes even beyond my expectations. I've been a fan of single-pickup guitars for years, so finally owning one, with my own specifications, is like a child dream coming true, really. It even has my Soul-Reaver-inspired G spiral on the twelveth fret!! Can't wait to play Unspkble concerts with it!
It goes without saying that I warmly recommend that you contact Aurélien for any custom guitar/bass project, or any lutherie operation in the Montpellier area! His work is impeccable and he is a super-cool and passionate professional! 😄
We named that baby the "Spectral Foxy" 👻 Here are some of its specs!
Body: Mahogany (Acajou)
Neck: Mahogany/Maple (Erable)
Fretboard: Rosewood (Palissandre)
Pickup: Seymour Duncan P-Rails
Controls: Volume knob, 3-Way Toggle Switch
Radius compensated bridge, Hipshot tuning machines
Color: Arctic White
As some of you know, now that I play Dungeons & Dragons, I can get pretty insane when it comes to making artsy stuff to entertain my fellow adventurers.
To end our 'summer quest', our DM Yama had planned to have our gang, The Sunstriders, facing multiples threats (vampires and supremacist bird-people) and also, at some point, going on stage to perform at a "Woodstack" festival in Westgate...
Me being the 'life-sized' bard of the group, he then asked me to come up with a cover of "Walking on sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves, but since we wanted the whole gang to sing on it and keep this as a "surprise", I had to secretely contact each member of my party and ask them to record lines from the song... and we gave them a rule that was "don't talk about this project amongst each other"!
Thing is... One week before the reveal of the song, while waiting for everyone to send me their recordings, I was like "what about making some visuals for it?" and I started designing some stage makeups for our team...
...But then I was like, "what about reusing our Hero Forge avatars, and painting this makeup on them?"...
...And then "what about adding little animations?"...
It all went snowballing and I decided that I HAD to make a full video for the song!!! So I told one of my friends from the party to help me with the environment and dialog boxes; animated even more little things and after approx. 40 hours of self-absorbtion, I had this video!
I felt really honored to have all the members of the party agreeing to provide vocals on the song (even when it's just backvocals); it's another proof that music is for everyone and that you can have real fun with it, no matter how "bad" you think you are! So I'd like to thank them to having trusted me with their voices and for being so awesome 💙⭐ Also I really like working on crazy collective projects on short periods of time, and the "secret" aspect of it definitely made it even more exciting!
I already wrote too much! Enjoy!!!

To celebrate the beginning of another rusty October, here is my doom metal rendition of French rapper ANTHA's beautiful song, "Les Tourments" 💀
2020 brought many calamities, but some good stuff too. Among the good stuff, I discovered ANTHA's solo album "Spleen" - an amazingly dark and ethereal album, and so far my favorite this year. I was already a fan of ORTIES (her rap band with her sister) and this goes even beyond. The production, the ambient, the lyrics (in French of course) are superb. I dare to say that I consider "Spleen" like a modern goth gem, and I don't care if "it's a rap record, it cannot be goth"; to me it's all about aesthetics, and here there is definitely "that thing" I like in dark music!
Last August, I was SO MUCH into this album that I decided to work on a doom metal 'adaptation' of the song "Les tourments", as I found that the words would suit so well this kind of mood. Enjoy! 😌
When I started Londead, I was in a hole near New Cross gate in London, UK. This project helped me coping with hard times and self-doubt-- ultimately making me realize that most of these things, that perhaps I thought would be temporary due to my personal life at the beginning of the project, would stay with me until the end.
I began writing "Bliska" in late 2016, after arriving in the city of Warsaw (Poland) where I lived for the next 2 years. What should have been a very spontaneous EP (like "Brs de fear" in 2013) became something bigger, and it took me 2 years to fully finish the songs. This EP goes back to the musical roots of the project, but also features more vocals than ever before, and IN FRENCH throughout the whole thing. For years I wasn't interested in using my mothertongue in my music because I had (still have) mixed feelings with it as a "sung language", but on these songs, it came out naturally... and it added the definitive nail to the coffin of the project, making it my most testimonial recording, for better or worse: at the end of the mixing process, I understood that Londead was done. You can't run away from ghosts; you learn to live with them, to embrace them even. Nothing happens the way you'd like it to happen anyway.
To the people who listened / shared / spoke & wrote about it / actually gave a damn: Thank you. It meant a lot more than I could say. It's time to let go.
