Le N'avant '23 - 2/2

Second contribution to this year's Le N'Avant !

This one was done during livestreams on my Twitch channel throughout December. Indeed I started to draw live again, each Thursday afternoon/evening, so feel free to drop by some times.

Le N'avant '23 - 1/2

First contribution out of two for this year's calendar by Le N'Avant , an advent calendar made by French illustrators and published on Instagram, to which I've been kindly asked to participate.

This year's sub-theme is vampires, so obviously I'm super inspired!

All Stories Told

Illustration for the new music video of my band Unspkble, directed by Élise Meunier.

I am so, so glad and grateful to have been able to work with Élise on this very cool project. Go watch it if you haven't already!

Mordorfest 2023 Poster

I had the honor and the pleasure of making the official poster for @mordor.fest.france 2023, which is an amazing indie festival where I'm also lucky enough to perform this summer 🥰 As in previous years, the line-up is diverse and qualitative (except for me! lol) and I can't wait to recharge my batteries in this magical place! Lozère wins 💜

Below, you can see details in a little higher definition! My concept for the poster was: a matriarchal tribe that rules the Déroc waterfall and its surtoundings (the actual location where the festival takes place)-- an opportunity to draw badass women, using fantasy and rock imagery, what more could you ask for? 😺
Ps. The colors of the protagonist on the left are inspired by those of the local flag of Lozère: blue, red and yellow!

Summertime drama

An illustration that came out of the blue, over the weekend! I enjoy drawing kinda random-but-real-life-looking characters these days.

dtiys_ungfio

I couldn't resist participating in the #drawthisinyourstyle challenge by ungfio, which is one of my favorite artists to follow on Instagram 🌱

I am not posting much these days, and I am sorry ❤
My band Unspkble is going on tour for the next 10 days, starting this Friday! We'll be touring France and Belgium. Come and say hi!

Witch Fever

Two years ago I discovered this band with the song "Toothless", that instantly got me on fire! Earlier this month, they played in Nîmes so we went to see them-- and it was fucking awesome. I've been listening to their songs on repeat since then, and felt a need to draw something that would be reminiscent of this energy I felt during their show... a mix of excitement, danger, and well, bewitching? lol
Anyways here's my humble-but-flammable tribute to them! 🔥🤘

Princess Post-punk

I made the poster for a show that Unspkble is playing in March, alongside the great Princess Thailand from Toulouse!

When designing stuff for Unspkble, since we're influenced by the 80's post-punk scene, I like to think more in terms of abstract minimalism, textures, geometric composition, but here I wanted to have a proper FACE to catch people's eye... so I ended up drawing this Siouxsie-inspired person! I hope you enjoy 🤩

False Icon

I didn't post much in a long while, and one of the reasons is that I've been pretty busy with my band Unspkble (where I play guitar and digital delay, lol). We started recording our first full-length album, that will be released around the summer of 2022, and went on a short tour before the holidays. Here's a visual I made for the band, and that we started using on teeshirts!

We are currently booking many shows for next year (in France), so if you like post-punk/cold wave or rock music in general, come check us out!

Mytho Logique: 10 Years

On this very day, 10 years ago, I graduated from my animation/vfx art school with the release of Mytho Logique, a 3D animation short film I co-directed with 4 friends. This little film was the starting point of my professional carreer, and 2 months after graduation, I left Montpellier to start a job in London.

I put a lot of myself in it, and I must admit, 10 years later, than it probably has been the only time I got this chance. As a result, this film remains an important achievement to me and I am very grateful people are still entertained by it, given the number of views and comments on Vimeo and Youtube and the fact that the audio was translated in other languages! It is simply amazing.

To mark the occasion, I wanted to revisit quickly the world of Mytho, and since I don't work in 3D anymore, here's an illustration! Fun fact: the composition is very loosely based on "The Infancy of Bacchus", a painting by Louis De Boulogne The Younger (1654-1733). Enjoy!

A gift for my friend Miss Buffet Froid 😃 Let's make this the first one in a series about classical cinema monsters!

The Conjuring Universe

Lately I've been rewatching The Conjuring films and discovered all of their spin-offs (Annabelle, The Nun, The Curse of La Llorona), and DAMN I love this universe. I am actually a big fan of the Insidious franchise too (which was started by the same director, James Wan) so you can expect another fan art soon...

Note that this was entirely drawn with pencils and inked traditionally! Of course I edited some stuff digitally, but still.

Pushed

I recently participated to an artbook put together by the Push Start association, featuring artists from southern France working in the video game & cinema industries. Among some of my works, here is a punctual "Shader" illustration I made specially for the occasion!

Infinity Gauntlet

Lately I've been getting more and more hyped by the Avengers: Infinity War film release - so here is a fan art!
I'd like to add that it is also some kind of tribute to the "old" Marvel Super Heroes video game by Capcom and its brilliant 2D art, which I am still a big fan of!

Fun fact: before coloring in Photoshop, I sketched this with pencils on an A4 paper sheet, then inked it on an enlarged A3 format! Lots of inking mistakes were digitally fixed, but it was my first time inking such a big paper sheet. I need to practice more, but it was a good exercice.
